how come there is at present so many Chinese sellers on here who are allowed to put their despatch location as here in the UK?
I've found loads of items which are undercutting most UK sellers and they all show their location as in the UK but then have their registered company address details as in Hong Kong.
its pretty clear that these sellers dont have offices in the uk and are just putting this to stop them being filtered out when someone clicks on show uk only.
surely there should be some check done by ebay to ensure that if a company claims to be in a country the address needs to be verified..

What we can do
We at least can inform our MPS so they can wake up Hmrc
other step we can take
in our listing we can writ ein bold and big FONT
SAY NO TO CHINESE POOR QUALITY PRODUCTS etc
if every uk seller add these words in listing at least it will have some effect
and may be some one can come up with better solutions..

I have reported Chinese sellers to the HMRC, my local MP, VAT offices and Ebay, and received no positive response from any of them, they appear to allow this to go on with no redress. I am banging my head against a brick wall complaining about the Chinese sellers as it seems that the Chinese can do whatever they want against the detriment of the English sellers. I know from this forum that some uk sellers have gone out of business over this and I don’t know what else we can do! Ideas welcome...

one thing i have noticed
these chinese cant shift momentaum towards amazon sales
because of relisitic and more praticial and fair trade policies.
i suggest we can all add in our listing one common sentence
something like Say NO to To Chinese Product, Buy British Products
Cant Match exact words if some can help more Artisitcally
then we all at least can create a wave to all UK Buyers....
This is the time for Stand Togather and take steps what ever we can
rather than leave the fields for chinese Seller.
We should Sincerely Support UK Seller and Convince Buyer as well.
IF anyone know better markets product instead of chine please inform and help other seller
so that they can compete with them and regrow the sales....

it seem there are not rules specifically
it indicate lo poles in HMRC why they issue VAT Number to Chinese Seller
Why not they follow strict Rules
No rent no office no property in uk no income tax no commercial council tax
Chinese seller selling things to uk Buyer
I think we should raise this concern to media as well...
so at least on TV it can be on air and people can more aware from this issue.....
Total unfair with uk seller

we should explore more markets
which can give tough time to china and better quality.....
UK Seller can suggest markets apart from thier interest ( if they know if some one struggling in particular item)
they just can share idea or any method to give chinese seller Tough Time.....
For Example
Matalan , H & M, Primark Even Next
thier products are made from nepal , bangladesh , india, pakistan etc
UK Seller can search those markets ( in case if they are importing from china)

MY Arguments were
on which bases they are allowed
to sell products on ebay.co.uk
they should sell in china not here...
it is not fair trade they just get VAT Number and dont even have register office in uk..
while uk seller paying heavy rents on storage pay vat paying taxes.......
if they dont stop then we will out of this ebay then they should make ebay.china not uk///
we should get togather and make one plateform to raise our voice,
please all uk seller make official complaint against chinese seller who have not officialy
any register office in uk and not any ware house in uk...
i know 1 person who start from 1 account and within a year he has made 3 accounts
and continuoulsy copy product designs and contents and exact wording.....
Please dont be silent and raise your voice against this unfair trade
my next step will be to report HMRC about their vat number wothout having any register office in UK
Where did you get the idea that Chinese sellers shouldn't be allowed to sell on ebay.co.uk? You can't make up rules because you don't like something. Chinese sellers are perfectly entitled to sell in the UK, whether that stock is dispatched from China or held in the UK.
Yes, they should be subject to applicable regulations, but ebay aren't going to ban sellers because you feel that they are unfair competition - ebay aren't going to ban them unless they do something particularly untoward.
If you felt that, perhaps, a particular account was misrepresenting the location of items offered for sales, then Trading Standards would be the place to go. If you have evidence that they aren't correctly registered for VAT, if holding stock in the UK, then contact HMRC. Ebay are in the business of making commission from sales made on their platform and aren't going to enforce anything which they aren't compelled to enforce.

I see that some of the items you sell are definitely of Chinese origin. Are you going to tell your customers to move along and find a British made alternative? Doesn't seem like the best way to conduct business.

why Is ebay even allowing Chinese sellers to use this platform which is .co.uk
Why not give them their own site...ebay.cn or whatever the country abbreviation is
I don't know.
It's a bit like asking why an American company allows British sellers to use their platform. You do realise that many people here were selling on ebay long before there was a UK site?

So products from Nepal, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan are fine, but Chinese products aren't? Perhaps you could explain how this is anything other than blatant racism?
Perhaps you could also explain the ludicrous hypocrisy of making such statements when you sell Chinese products?

Most alleged chinese sellers who say they are UK based are liars, when parcel arrives it has a CN22 Custom Declaration Label, which denotes it has come from outsdie of Europe, as a CN22 is not required in Europe. And also their emails in Pidgin English are hard to understand.
