Change of payment terms being rolled out to every buyer...!

Had this message from ebay last. Contacted them this morning as all our orders are on hold for at least 30 days. CS confirmed it is being rolled out to every business seller. Can anyone confirm that this has indeed happened to them? This is the end of our ebay shop. I now have to pay for postage, materials, my office and now wait at least 30 days for a payout.

'We are making changes to the way we process payments on eBay. Going forward, we’ll make your funds available for payout within 72 hours after we’ve confirmed delivery of the item. Until then, you’ll see a “hold” on your funds. This process helps keep our marketplace safe.'

Have you checked your seller metrics and seller levels to see if you're below anything? I don't see this happening as it's not eBays money to hold, they're the middle man

Yep metrics all above standard. CS was adamant its being rolled out to very business seller and the wait for 30 days is for anything sent untracked

Why 30 days? I'm a private seller and 'only' have to wait 14 days for untracked items.

Have not got a clue. I am absolutely gobsmacked. Been selling on here for over 25 years.

Is this from Dublins CS? Seems strange they would make a business wait longer than a private seller. Even the 72hrs after confirmation is 24hrs longer than the 48hrs private sellers wait. Normally eBay make an announcement when bringing new things in. How are your sellers levels showing delivery?

Seller levels all good and all above standard. How do you get to speak to Dublin CS? The guy I spoke to at CS said it’s being rolled out to every business seller? But I don’t buy it as this business forum would be full of people going mad.

would it be worth going to the ombudsman?

Is it possible to tag a mod on here to see if they can shed any light on this? I really don’t know whether to keep the shop open as waiting 30 days whilst having to pay for postage and materials upfront is not sustainable

Maybe one of the more experienced members can tell you how to get Dublin. Always take anything normal CS say with a pinch of salt. Not really worth doing anything until you have got to the bottom of what is going on.

Are you sure something is not below? Maybe "Late delivery rate"? I noticed no " eBay Top-rated Seller" on your profile so something must be below standard

We haven’t been a top rated for seller for 10 years always had 24 hour payouts. Everything is the same as it’s always been

I’m just shocked CS are saying it’s being rolled out to every business seller and yet no announcement has been made site wide. So does that mean CS are blatantly lying? Very odd

Not lying, Standard CS are terribly trained and limited knowledge. they just say anything

Thanks for tagging Kat!

I guess I need to know if what I’ve been told by CS is true or a lie then go from there.

i should be able to get the transcript of the conversation if it needs to go as high as the ombudsman

This has *got* to be normal C.S., lee..... can you imagine the 'big boys' (W.o.B, M.Magpie etc)  having this rubbish foisted on them??

The original message has either got to be a mistake, or something very individual to *your* account.

Re: Change of payment terms being rolled out to every buyer...!

The message definitely isn’t a mistake. All of this mornings orders are on hold for 30 days or more. Seller standard is above standard etc etc. everything is the same as it’s always been. I do agree with you I believe I have been singled out but they aren’t telling me why. This board would be livid if this was the case for every seller
