Hello
Please I want to selling on Ebay..After reading about ebay policy about private sellers, I have decided to sell as a business account
Pls if you are a business seller, pls can you state how much you pay
It states basic pay £27 ,monthly subscription of £105..This is a bit confusing
Can someone explain nicely

The basic shop subscription is £27 plus vat which equates to £32.40.
If you use up your 250 allowance of Buy it Now listing extras are 12p each (which includes the VAT). Extra auctions are 18p (again including the VAT).

You will also need to pay final value fees and regulatory operating fees for each sale you make. For more details see this link
Fees for business sellers | eBay
Promoted listings etc are optional

Thank you for your reply.
Do you also pay a fee when each of your listing sells?

Yes, see the link @5216elisabeth posted for final value fees.
Basically it's 30p* (fixed) + 9.9-12.9% (depending on category) + VAT + a few pence Regulatory Fee.

*In some categories this is reduced to 10p when item+postage is under £10.
The simple way to look at it is you'll give ebay approximately 15% of the final price, give or take. If using promoted listings then that's extra on top - which you can decide how much it's worth paying for extra visibility.

Can i also point out the red herring here.
You all talking about a shop that is not a business account
On eBay they are totally separate
Anyone can have a shop
If you haven't already you will need to have a business account on eBay.
On these boards very recently a member asked a question about a shop turned out they thought they had a business account, they didn't it was just a shop.
You'll need a business account to access allot of extra features the should aid selling.
If you already have a business account 👍

Thank you for this
I do not have a business account, that is why I wanted to start selling as a private seller but since Ebay is charging private seller more
I have to open a shop. So basically without a business account, I will not get all the benefits

Sounds like you are trading as a business so not to fall foul of consumer law you will need a business account on ebay.
This is not really an option
The law requires that ebay send selling data to HMRC so this is not about that.
But there are basics that businesses must follow and having a business account on ebay is one of them.

I am not trading as a business.. I want to sell used items and my kids baby clothing

Then you don't need a business account.
Its not advantages to have one.
Fees are allot higher.
But if you buy anything with the intention to sell it you must be a business
Selling your own things you don't.
