If you set up automatic offers to go out (ie a percentage) but then put the items in a sale. Would the system continue to send out offers on the sale price?
For example if I sent a 20% offer on a £10 item making it £8
But then later put it in a sale with 20% off. Would ebay then 'automatically send an offer' with a further 20% making it £6.40? Or would the sale cancel out the automation?

They're a great idea but we're missing a tick box 'don't stack with other discounts'
I played with them a bit but decided I'd rather maintain control and mix up my offers for coupons/ sales/ offers

The simple answer is yes.
Automatic offers (regardless of whether created as an amount or percentage) are managed in the system as a percentage off the listed sales price - so if in a sale the percentage is off the sale price.
I recently learnt that offers also stack with coupons. So you can end up with an item on sale, an offer made prior to sale kicking in and a coupon discount (plus multibuys also stack)

Thanks, definitely not worth using then as it would knock some items into a loss to send!
