In the recent month we are getting more and more people say they have not received something. Tracked post says its been delivered to the very same GPS. then they just say something short like "REFUND NOW"..
The other say a very cheap item someone says it had been smashed , they took a picture of something that we didnt send out. then i asked for clearer pictures they held our item but it was almost all covered up by their hand. lol then persistant for refund with no engaged conversations.. they are so obvious its almost a blessing how rubish they are at trying now.
This is theft or attempted theft and very disheartening ..

Buyers mistakenly believe that if they didn't sign for something, or see the postie scan something that you won't have proof of delivery....
Thankfully you can defend these cases and win by entering the tracking number
As for the fake SNAD cases, sadly you will have to refund and pay return postage costs for whatever they send back - SNAD cases cannot be successfully defended, sellers always lose out

yes thankfully we have that..
i have reported the other one who clearly shoes in one picture a cracked funnel which is much bigger than ours and very different. Then in her other photo there is a picture of our funnel so we clearly have evidence with this one. it was £3.50 for got sake and they are trying to defraud.. lol absolute jokers...
People who do this have obviuosly and are obviously doing it all the time so i hope ebay will investigate them.

Yes and also buyers who threaten me with bad reviews if I don't refund without them having to return the item. Often there is nothing wrong with the item, they don't like it or they claim that a corner of the box is damaged and it was a present (never sent any photo though) eBay doesn't protect me at all from these reviews saying that buyers are entitled to review as they like. I am a top rated seller but they still side with the sellers even when I have all the evidence that they blackmailed me.

yes we get this.. Its also overly obvious with the way these customers use of text. its almost a case of they need and education because they are very poor at engaging without giving it away..
i think we as sellers should have the option to be able to change our feedback on buyers because ours is set up auto as soon as they pay so we cannot do anything if they do this to us.
would be nice to kind of give warnings to future sellers and gives a kind of map and trail if they do this all the time

I love the way you reply to negative comments. Like in my case they are all unfair. The one I had last night should have been removed by eBay because the buyer didn't read the description, nowhere I say what the buyer claims I said. Then complaining about not receiving an item after they were refunded or not liking the scent that kind of thing. All the other comments are very good, I often go the extra mile but because of a bunch of people my average is now low affecting my sales.

that side of ebay is stupid. they need to change it. we get product reviews saying just too small when we put all measurements on our listings.. also get ones that said very fast delivery but a negative. lol
people get negatives for dvds they have bought because they have not enjoyed the film. lol
how all this is not enough for ebay to change things.. they dont make it clear to the customer what they are leaving feedback for should be the service .

Yes, like this case last night https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235396608856
But even for refunds, the customer is always right.
And in this case I had to refund as it was solid and therefore according to the customer defective, although the description explains that it would be solid https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235566549664 eBay didn't back me up and counted it as a defect. As I didn't want to pay for the label as well and I can't resell a product that has been opened I told her to keep it, therefore she had a perfectly fine product for free.

I think the feedback system should just be abolished. It serves no useful purpose.
II've had negative and neutral feedback in the past with this sort of comment:
- God is love. Praise Him!
- Can't send texts on this item (it was a plant pot)
- Perfect seller, item and delivery. Couldn't be happier.
- Didn't realise I could have bought a cheaper one in Poundshop.
- Book was too small.
- I HATE EBAY. I HATE EBAY. I HATE EBAY.
- This bow tie didn't suit my dog.
- Didn't realise this book was in Russian (a fact that was mentioned in the title, item specifics, description, and should have been evident from all six pictures of the book).
It's pointless, it takes a ridiculous amount of the seller's time to sort it out, and often the seller gets lumbered with it anyway.

I totally agree
the worst one I had as a negative was. I haven't tried it yet and that was for a dinner plate
people just make a mockery of feedback sometimes just for their own amusement

just an update on the person that took a picture of an item that wasnt ours. clearly different items as ours was a unique manufacture. surprise surprise the return arrived today and the envelope was empty.
i reported them to ebay and then asked ebay to step in on the return knowing this was not going to work.
i supported my case by showing all pictures and our picture in hand. i even mocked up the same picture mimicing the picture they sent but with our item in hand and superimposed it over theres to see how different they are.
ebay messaged saying they are refunding the customer but not out of our money which i guess is some kind of win for us.
moral of the story, always push and get as much ammunition as you can to support your case.

I got another one this morning. Buyer wanted to exchange three T-Shirts that they found were too big for them. They ordered large and we sent large, the sizes clearly shown in inches on the listing.
We have today recieved a vat invoice from eBay for the return postage charges as the buyer has claimed 'Not as Described'.
With such low sales volume we simply can't afford to keep refunding folks and paying postage both ways to then end up with items that are unlikely to resell for months, if ever!

It is pain, the number of SNAD's you get and there is nothing you can really do about them.
I've given up trying now tbh.
Don't know if you are or not, but your items will probably sell quite well on Amazon. Have you looked at it?
Particularly so coming up to Christmas.
31-10-2024 11:43 AM
Stores should be able to choose if its free returns or not just like a webstore can. ebay should not able to decide for us what to do. its rediculous
31-10-2024 11:45 AM
We have an amazon business which has been great tbh but littered with stress also. plus they take so much money from us..

To be fair, I can see where Ebay is coming from with the returns.
At the end of the day, they are piggy in the middle, which does put them in an awkward position.
So they tend to rule in favour of the customer at our expense.
However, in an awful lot of cases it is patently obvious that the customer is trying it on, but they just don't even bother to look.
I've had some good ones in the past.
For a pair of skinny jeans, the jeans are too skinny!
For a sweatshirt with marks on the front, pictured in detail. "There are marks on the sweatshirt"
And of course, these are all defects, that the customer simply hasn't bothered to see/read etc.
Once you get a few, you then end up paying an extra 4% in fees.....
So of course Ebay have no reason to help you, then get more money if they don't!
