After over 20 years of trading on Ebay, I am finally starting to lose the will to fight. Ive jumped through hoop after hoop and seen a decline of over 50% in the last couple of years.
After increasing my prices to cover Royal Mails ridiculous hike in prices this weekend, I am over 50% down on a usual Monday morning. Im hoping it's just because not everyone has applied the new prices yet and competition currently offer better prices - but I just cant carry on like this.
Feeling very pessimistic this morning!!

I know how difficult it is if your struggling, which you obviously are.
And I'm really not having a go at you at all.
But it's no wonder that nobody is interested in that auction.
You have it running to finish at almost 10 O'clock at night and you don't have any kind of manifest.
And you don't even have a total number of units there, to give an idea of the actual cost per unit.
I know that you have the number of pallets, but I haven't got a clue as to how many items per pallet that is.
So anyone buying it, really doesn't know what it actually consists of.
And this one actually is something that I would be very interested in. I would just have to work out where to store a fair chunk of it, as I don't have enough spare space for it currently.

After the latest price increase from Royal Mail I decided to close my business account as it offers me no savings whatsoever to buying postage non business. In fact some items (heavier large letters) will be cheaper normal postage that business.
I completed the necessary online form on 12th March to close my business account. Heard nothing so called them a couple of times (that is an onerous task in itself) to be told it will be done in the next couple of days.
Finally, this morning I get an email which is a ONE line sentence saying "I have now closed your account" No sorry you want to close your account, no thank you for being a loyal customer all these years. Absolutely shocking the way they treat their customers.

My business is not really affected by the high street more really from car boot sales and charity shops
However I did hope that after winding this down quite considerably I would continue this into my retirement years just as a top up to my pensions. Quite honestly it’s become quite stressful to sell on here with the constant changes. You never actually know when another ridiculous update is around the corner. I see eBay trying hard to be vinted at this moment but unfortunately they still see it acceptable to charge fees and encourage promotions for business sellers
As I’ve said many times I’m winding down. I no longer buy and am just reducing my stock to a level that I can downsize my house and move into a small flat and retire to the seaside
unfortunately it’s taking longer than I’d hoped with ever fluctuating sales. Normally April starts with a bang for me but not this month. I actually owe eBay for some of my shop fees this month as sales haven’t covered them.
I refuse to get stressed though. I’ll be doing a few car boots this year I guess

They have been like that for years. Not shocks me about them anymore.
