This was 50p from the Sense Charity shop.

Maureen Lipman signed book " Lip Readng". Nice sig Maureen has.

The 2nd one will add to my "Alex" Collection of Graphs, Also 50p from the East Lancs hospice charityshop, And signed in Green biro...Alex Scarrows novel " Time Riders"..This book looks like it's neer been read..Can't leave them on the shelves for 50p...Could you?

Great bargains for 50p Alex. I think Maureen is brilliant. A good ttmer, and popular author, as well as very funny lady. I found signed hardbacks of Lip Reading of this and two of her earlier books in charity shops on three separate occasions. Plus another for the Alex collection - cannot go wrong with that. 🙂

Cold In Hand HB 1/1 2008 bu John Harvey. £1.

Prolific author of over 90 books under various names, and has worked on scripts for TV and radio.

Found another signed HB 1/1 of Douglas Hurd's memoirs for £2.99. Dated and located as wel which is nice.

Picked 3 books up from the East lancs Hospice charity shop on Friday...2 signed books and an autobiography for a TTM request, At 3 for a £1, I just had to choose a third. These cos around 33p each..Cant and won't leave them on the shelves at those prices.

First signed book is "Swansea Terminal" by Robert Lewis. Sounds a laugh. This is Robert's second Novel his first being "The last Llanelli Train".

Second up is a hardbacked first edition from 2000 of Glenn Chandler's true crime book "Buring Poison" The murder that rocked Georgian Liverpool. Signed to Title page...Glenn is best known whoever as the creator and writer of the award winning and highly praised Taggart Series for Scotish TV which stared Mark McManus.

Nice Alex, you are right about not leaving them at those prices. I have seen the opposite recently - lots of overpriced books, and some in very grotty condition! I like Mr Chandler's sig, and it sounds a fascinating book.

Today brought two fiction finds from my favourite charity shop for a £1 each -

Tropical Depression USA HB 1/1 1996 by Laurence Shames.

The book is almost like new protected by a mylar sleeve, but Laurence does not have a great sigature.



The Tiger's Wife HB 1/2 signed on bookplate by Tea Obreht.

A bargain for £1, even if not a true 1st and not signed to the page. Had a laugh with the lady in the charity shop. She had put it out on Saturday, and one guy apparently picked it up, showed it to his wife, and said "who's this - never heard of them - must be crap". Sums up the denizens of my local town. One of the hottest books of 2011!

This is the cracking pair I picked up yesterday..:^O

Katie Price/Jordon signed hardbacked first edition of her Book "You only Live Once" from 2010. It even has a post-it-note on the title page stating who the book should be dedicated to.

Jordon has had many ups and downs in her life, Love her or hate her ( I can think of a couple of reasons to love her) the girl's done good. I picked ths up for a £1 in a local charity shop.
