nice find Rick
I was over the moon with the one I found today, the late Jade Goody, in excellent condition (it looks unread) and undedicated for just £2:

Nice successes for Greg and rick. Completely opposite ends of the spectrum that covers entertainment and celebrity, yet for many reasons, most people under 30 will probably know Jade better than Lauren. Both great finds for the prices.
I picked two up for a £1 each today.
The first I already have signed by both authors, so this single signed copy will make a good reading copy.
The 2nd I am most chuffed with as we already have two of her recent books signed, and this is her 6th book from 1991. It is a lovely USA rough cut HB 1st edition which she has signed and doodled. Isabel is probably most famous for her 1st book The House of the Spirits. A very popular author.

Had a rummage in the East Lancs Hospice charity shop this afternoon...books 3 for a £1.. And found 3 signed books. A Pound well spent today I think.
First one has over 800 pages "The Dorset Squirrels" By Michael Tod..dedicated to Olivia.
The second one is "The Real McCall" by Stuart McCall Ex Bradford, Rangers, Everton, Sheff Utd and Scotland player..Nice find for 33p
And this signed book by Sean Hughes " Sean's book"
Sean Hughes (born John Hughes, 10 November 1965) is a British stand-up comedian of Irish origin, writer and actor, noted for his dark, acerbic sense of humour.

That's awesome Alex. Sean Hughes is a funny chap, and Stuart McCall a solid player. Great stuff for a £1. You cannot go wroing with any of those. Love it. 🙂
I left work early today (a very rare opportunity), and hit the town locally before heading home. The anything for 49p table I like so much is now the anything for 99p table (the price of popularity), but like you, three more signed books, all hardback fiction including a couple of well known authors. Will add them after I sort out the pics.
Gotta love charity shops that have clearout bargains. 🙂

Two more finds today (please take the time to read the ramble after the book find, and also raise a virtual glass).
My Autobiography HB 1st 1995 by Allan Lamb. £1
I had a charity shop find today which is very special to me, and comes with a spooky story or tale of double coincidence, depending upon how you look at it. Read on, a bit of a ramble.
To start with, the pictured box of records caught my eye. I had been in the same shop on Wednesday and they had very few records, so I knew this was recently added, and at 20p per lp, anything signed would be an amazing bonus.
Halfway through the box was my find -
Like It Is Remixes LP by Imagination from 1989
I was a little excited by this as you will find out. When I got home, I showed my wife, and explained why it was exciting.
Growing up, one of my best friends was a chap called Bob. We had known each other since play group. Although we always stayed close friends, and did a lot together, we had vastly different musical tastes. Bob preferred the soul, pop music scene, and I was out there listening to all sorts of stuff he had never heard of or understood. Bob tragically died in a horrible work accident a month before his 25th and my 24th birthday (our birthdays were 1 day apart). The Christmas before (1989), he had tickets to see Imagination at Hammersmith Odeon, and as a result of someone dropping out had a spare ticket. I was not really interested, plus had my works Christmas lunch the same day, but took the ticket all the same, and said I would meet them inside at the seats.
Spooky bit number 1 - Today is the 21st anniversary of Bob's death.
Spooky bit number 2 - I arrived at the venue totally s**tfaced from my works Christmas lunch. Bob and the others told me I arrived, mumbled hello, slumped in my seat and slept through most of the concert. Apparently I suddenly woke up, jumped to my feet and started singing White Christmas. Much to everyone's amusement, the band started playing it as well. As I told my wife about this I was showing her the lp, and I looked inside to see what shape the record was in, and found the following which is a special Christmas 7" flexi disc in sleeve given away at the 1989 Christmas shows, and it was also signed.
A virtual glass raised to my mate Bob. 21 years on from his death, and still part of my life in a way I never expected.

nice finds Nigel and as you say a spooky coincidence, looks like your mate Bob is still looking out for you:-)
Just raised a virtual glass to him myself on your behalf mate
