When I was at Preston with Crerand, Stepney and Fitzpatrick, John fitzpatrick said Alan Gowling should never have been on that photograph as he didn't kick a ball for Utd that season, Is this true?

Alex , Alan Gowling played 1 league game and scored 1 goal in season 1967-68 and he played no games in season 1968-69
