As I mentioned a while back, it is not so easy to fill in the gaps in my signed EastEnders card collection as many I need are expensive. I missed out on a rare Steven Woodcock card that finished just over £77. Too rich for me right now, but still lower than I have seen it for in the past.
From the same seller I picked up a scarce signed John Altman card for £13.50. Sad they have bumped off Nick Cotton off screen. #534
Mark Homer - 29 days
I had one of Mark's cards already, so was chuffed when I managed to snag his other card unsigned for £6.32. I sent it off to him with an index card, and was thrilled to get both back signed (in pink sharpie - like it!) along with a signed letter. This is another scarce card, so I am even more pleased with this. #535

For one day only, a little peak at my EE collection. I also have many hundreds of other photos, cards, letters from people who have been in EE not shown here, because I focus on official products and books.

Rob - there are quite a lot of rare and hard to get cards, but there are two cards in particular which many did not even think existed. I have one of them - signed!
Both actors have something in common - they played EE characters the public hated more than anyone because they were guilty of hideous on screen sex crimes as part of the storylines. As such, you can understand why both may not have wanted to celebrate the characters and sign the cards. It does not stop completist collectors (myself included) from wanting them, and making them sought after.
The one I do not have is Chris Coghill as Tony King. An unsigned card sold on ebay for £147.98 in 2011. I have never seen one since, and I do not know anyone who ever got a reply from Chris. Due to the way the public confuse on screen characters with reality, it is no surprise Chris shied away from the character and any fanmail about the character. Obviously Chris is still young, and may one day give fans a surprise with some replies. Maybe he will not.
The one I have is Michael Elphick as Harry Slater. It is the only one of these cards I have ever seen, and have never seen one on eBay myself but have seen reports that one was listed for circa £400 a few years ago, probably during the period after I sold my original collection when I was not looking. Mine is signed in biro without a dedication. I would estimate it is worth upwards of £500. I found mine away from eBay and paid £40 for it.
Without being biased, I would say that Michael's card is rarer. Michael was kicked off the show due to his drinking issues, so probably had bad feelings about the show. He then sadly passed away less than a year later in 2002. I very much doubt he signed many of these under the circumstances. Chris is still alive and young, so could possibly sign some one day.
