I ordered something of ebay a few weeks ago and the seller had it well packaged ( double bubble wrap and padded envelope ),  but when I got it some clumsy postman put his big foot on it and smashed it on me so I put a claim in for the damages.  They refused the claim first so I took it further  and got back 12 1st class stamps from them as a gesture of goodwill, so I can get more signed index cards thanks to Royal mail.

yeah it is more than enough as the item cost me £4.99 including postage

Good for you. It's a pain that you have to really push for any compensation though so, well done for chasing them.
