I picked this Burnley shirt up for £2.50 in a charity shop last Saturday, It commemorates Burnley's 50th anniversary of winning the league title back in 1959/60 season, The team the late John Connelly played in.I sent this across to Sean Dyche the new Burnley manager via the trainng ground address on Monday the 5th of November. I welcomed him "Up North" and wished him well in his new role and how poorly he had been treated at Watford where he was dismissed earlier this year. As an Accy Stanley fan we play one of his former clubs, Northampton Town this wekend and said if ever got the urge to visit us he'd be more than welcome. I did ask if he could sign the shirt and also add Ian Woan and Tony Loughlan to it as these guys are part of his management team. Today the shirt has been returned signed by 19...yes 19 Burnley squad members and management staff...Not sure on all of them but looking at No's I have David Edgar, Keeper Lee Grant, Luke O'Neil, Michael Duff, Dean Marney, Sam Vokes, Brian Stack, Kevin Tripper, Cameron Stewart, Joseph Mills, George Porter, Marvin Bartley, Kevin Long, Hr was on loan at Stanley last season, and Ross Wallace..still a few to identify. I also got a couple of signed cards back from Sean too.
Sean Mark Dyche (born 28 June 1971) is an English former footballer, and subsequently a coach and manager. He played as a centre back and is currently the manager of Burnley F.C.
Dyche started his playing career as an apprentice at Nottingham Forest under the management of Brian Clough, but didn't make a senior appearance and joined Chesterfieldin 1990. Dyche played the majority of his professional games for Chesterfield. He was part of the side that won promotion in 1995, and captained and scored for Chesterfield in an FA Cup semi-final in 1997. He spent subsequent spells at Bristol City, Luton Town (on loan), Millwall, Watford and finally Northampton Town. He retired in 2007, having achieved promotions with four of the six clubs he had played for.
Brilliant result for me, Now I have signed shirts from all 3 of this seasons squads from my local clubs, Stanley, Blackburn and Burnley...Well pleased wirth this one. Thank you all the staff at Turf moor.All the best Sean Dyche!!!!!!!!
