Sent "Old England Cricket XI" programme, FDC, photo and cards to Peter Parfitt via cricket club on 18/5 received all back signed on 27/5. He also answered a couple of the questions on my letter. Well pleased!! He is the tenth cricketer to sign the programme and FDC.
Peter Parfitt played cricket for Middlesex between 1956-72 and for England 1962-72. He was a left-hand bat and right arm offbreak bowler.
Peter played 498 first class matches, scoring 26,924 runs, with a batting average of 36.33 and a top score of 200 not out. He scored 58 hundreds and 144 fifties. He also took 277 wickets, taking 5 wickets in an innings 5 times, with best bowling figures of 6/45.
He played 37 tests, scoring 1,882 runs, with a top score of 131 not out, making 7 hundreds and 6 fifties. He took 12 wickets, with best bowling of 2/5.
In 1962 he made 3 centuries in 4 tests against Pakistan. In 1963 he was named as one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year.

Hi Jane. Yes had a great time in Vienna and Prague. Met up with a cousin and her husband from the Boston, USA and spent 4 days with them. Plenty of cheap beer and food!!
