I have in my collection a lot of Sir Bobby Charlton signatures that i have got ip and also ttm, i have even visited his home in person and have photo's to prove the fact. Below i have listed several of Sir Bobby's signatures, i know for a fact that there is either a sec or a forgery within them. Can you or any one of the ttmforum members tell me which it/ or they are????? Here are the signatures.......

ill go with your 4th post bottom picture with the blue in picture

I am going to let this run for a few days, simply because Sir Bobby's graph does have subtle changes from rushed to sat down. Even in a sit down private signing, his signature changes.

Very Interesting read, I don't like the 1st pic in post 15.

Hi Paul looking at all of them i would say the very first photo right at the bottom of this thread, just doesnt look right to me

I don't need to worry about selling places on the course, as its sold out anyway!
The more educated the members are on this or any other forum, the better i like it, as they will then know where to buy the good stuff, and not the crap that some consistently buy from the eBay forgers.
Garry
PS. but i will be running another course in London at the Autographica show!

Great Post Paul, I would have guessed the bottom pic in post 3. This just goes to show what a minefield the autograph world can be. No one seems to be 100% on this study. Proves its very important to be able to trust your source. Great Debate.

Not sure, but I'll go for bottom picture in post 3 but certainly shows it's not easy spotting forgeries!

We do have a winner....... Or should i say 2 winners. Take a look at the signatures once again. There is something wrong with one of them in particular, Something in the signature does NOT appear in all the rest, to me it is so obvious but only one of you has guessed it but only as a guess:) and one of you seems to know his Sir bobby graphs, shame he did not notice the OTHER one;) There are in fact 2 fakes / secs in the barrel! All the others are genuine, but some are rushed, some are sit down, and one is standing.
The fakes are Photo No1 and Photo No2. In photo No1 The B is way too big and too rounded, and the C is too small. and set at the wrong angle. Its a good attempt, but fake. Some people say that sir bobby always has a rounded point to his "Y" in Bobb"Y" this is not true. He used to have a rounded Y but again it depends upon the conditions. The thing to look for when studying a Sir Bobby graph is the tranferance from the "Y" to The "C" he nearly always leaves a pen trail between the two points. End of Y to start of C. Well done Colin.
In photo No2 the card, This is the one i thought most of you would get:) Something happens in this graph that Sir Bobby never does! No matter where he is signing. Sir Bobby has a very sure and heavy hand when signing. His pen very rarely leaves the page, as you will see there are gaps on a regular basis thoughout the signature, this would NOT happen if Sir Bobby had signed. The only time he does miss the page is during the transition between "L" and Ton, the bridge towards the end of his signature. Well done Ralph, you wre the only person to guess this one, and at a guess too.
I hope i have proven that Sir Bobby's signature is very varied depending upon the circumstance in which it was signed. Like i said, try it yourself, sign your name 10 times and look how they differ. But there will always be certain loops, length, and points that reaccure throughout them all:)
Cheers guys and thank you.
I would like both Colin and Ralph to send me there address's both will receive genuine Sir Bobby sigs, as a thank you for taking part:)

Hey Paul didnt i say it was The very first photo?
25-05-2011 8:29 AM
Paul..where did you get the fake Bobby's from then?
25-05-2011 10:22 AM
Jamie, you did. But i did stress the First person to guess it would get prize and Ralph and Colin were the first to answer the two correct ones.
Jane, Both of them i bought of a chap in Japan, when yahoo auctions was running. Sato i think his name was. Up until about 8 years ago i thought they were ok, but then i started getting BC in person and ttm and they did not measure up to those.
