I always recycle old reply envelopes, especially for the stiffeners. When doing this I double check just in case something was missed in the envelope as my wife opens most while I am at work and scans them for me.
I found an index card from Maurice Roeves in one today. It is funny as when I had my reply, he had serious silver pen trouble on one pic, then wrote over the top in blue apologising for the leak.
The card I found today is signed beautifully, and above it it says "No leaks this time!!"
Only problem is, when he put it in the envelope, it obviously picked up some silver ink from the silver ink pic while the ink on the record card was also wet as it has a silver paint smear & smudge across a third of the autograph. 🙂
A bonus with a twist, and an amusing story. 🙂

That must have been a nice surprise, Nigel. Pity about the silver ink on it but a lovely bonus sig.

Nice find. Just goes to show, always pays to check any old envelopes before throwing away. Nice one Nigel.
