Fantastic first TTM.

As most of you will know, I collect Northampton Town signatures in one particular book and on the whole don't get other signatures except if I really, really like them. About a month ago I got round to wondering about who I would like to write to if I did try a TTM and kept coming back to the same person, you'll have to open the link to see who it was. 😛

I had a hunt through the Fanmailbiz site and found an address. I sent it off and genuinely didn't expect a reply in less than six months. I can't tell you how pleased I was to see the envelope on the table when I got back from work this evening. My original photo got a touch crumpled and the person very kindly included a signed complimentary picture aswell.

I feel like a kid at christmas. 😄

Pele has a contract with A1 sporting memorabilia which states that he only signs autographs for them and no one else, and he gets 70% of the profits with the 30% going to the company who have the contract with him. I sort of know the guy at A1 through someone else who's mentioned that pele does not sign through the mail and anything that does back through any sort of agent or address will either be a pre print or a sec as its against his contract he signed if he were to sign for others, however he's permitted to sign in person. The ttm's like some have mentioned have the dodgy looking 'P' at the start and also on the first link the 'e' is never usually shakey looking like that its more round even when rushed ip. Here are 2 more examples of the secs from the same address from someone I know who sent to him:

again both the 'p' are slightly different and not the proper full loop.

here we go it also states here under the picture at the bottom of the page "This ground-breaking deal means that Pele will only sign his autograph on memorabilia for A1 Sporting Speakers – and nobody else"

Re: Fantastic first TTM.

Matt - Thanks for posting that, a lesson learned for many of us. That should indeed be agreed as conclusive that signing for anyone other than A1 except in person would be breach of contract, so logically ttm replies must be secretarial or facsimiles.

Are there any other "lock tight" signing deals like that for other prominent people? It would be useful to know.

Re: Fantastic first TTM.

bobby charlton has these so called contracts when signing for dealers, but after a few weeks, months he carries on as usual,,he probably got it pushed to him in his office somewhere in brazil or something, and he just signed it,without even looking at it,for all he knows it was from a fan elsewhere in the world, also, you cant positively say that its a sec because the

is slightly of either, autographs are not that precise,to draw such  conclusions,i cant see such a contract being valid, other than in the uk anyway, footy is not my forte, but i would bet that the signature in question is genuine

Re: Fantastic first TTM.

A1 Sporting Speakers customers now have the opportunity to purchase signed Pele items at the most competitive price possible in the marketplace. Any other company selling signed Pele memorabilia will have had to have bought it from us first. Guaranteed authenticity is also another reason to shop with A1 Sporting Speakers.

it mentions not fans or other indivuals

#27  As far as im aware I don’t know of anyone else who may have this contract or similar football wise anyway but was just told about this and then someone I know who knows the guy at A1 said the contract also applies to ttm but not ip..thats why I havent sent to him at all due to knowing about this and this is also the case for a few other people i know 🙂

Re: Fantastic first TTM.

still looks fine to me and yes it is one of the easiest sigs to copy, what im wondering is if cobblered had said he had bought em and not got em ttm would they be still the same discussion re authenticity? i think not, in my opinion just because someone is considered to be a non ttm signer doesnt mean that every reply ttm from that person should be considered a sec etc
wayne rooney is considered to be the worse signer ever either ttm or in person but members of this forum have had replies from him, i reckon it all depends what the signer is thinking/feeling at the time
i hope the pele is real, maybe it is maybe it isnt but its certainly raised a good topic of opinion

Re: Fantastic first TTM.

#30 & 31 - Daz, you make a good point about the contract. I have emailed A1 to see what they say.

#34 - Yes, I think some would have queried the signature had it been purchased, unless they knew up front the seller was one of the best (ie; Autografica, etc) and had got it in person. Just like milly queried Joe's JLS purchase as there are plenty of fakes out there, but fortunately Joe PLAYed safe. 🙂
