the American baseball league known as the Negro League, which existed until the early 1970's? On 12/15/13, at a church Christmas party, I learned that there was such an former athlete in my Sunday School class! He gave me 3 signed baseball cards AND signed a 3x5 for me! Larry "Smitty" Smith was one of the only 3 white players in the Negro League, and I was quite surprised to learn that such a historical individual was in such close proximity(?). The three cards were numbered 1-4000 and signed "Larry "Smitty" Smith. THAT was an interesting night, I'll say. To honor his privacy, I can't give out his address. Sorry, fellows...........
