Paul Shane (19 June 1940 – 16 May 2013) was an English comedian and actor, best known for his television work, in particular playing the part of Ted Bovis in Hi-de-Hi! a sitcom broadcast on the BBC in the mid 1980's.

I was saddened to read about this in the paper this morning. Thought he was really good in Hi-De-Hi.
