Sent one photo and two index cards to Derek Ibbottson MBE via private address, thanks to swain8316, on 10/2 received all back signed on the 12/2. Another quick turnaround!
He signed the photo on the reverse side and also wrote a small message.
On all three items he wrote his World Record time for the Mile, 3m 57.2, which he set in 1957, beating the time of John Landy. Derek's time was beaten a year later by the great Herb Elliot.
In the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, Derek won a Bronze medal in the 5,000m.
