This the 7th and final book I sent out from the "Bag for a £1" I did E-mail Tanni on the 15th of December asking if was ok to send the book and to which address I should sent it, Got a very nice reply from her Assistant Maureen saying that Tanni would be out of the country after appearing on "Sports personality of the year" late last December but would be back with us in early January so I waited until the time was right and sent a copy of her autobiography up to her, Hardbacked first edition from 2001, on the 11th of January..........................the book returned today...and how chuffed I am with this one.....signed.. Alex "Carpe Dium" Tanni x Latin for "Sieze the day" which is the title of her book.....I did Latin for a while back in me youth believe it or not.
After the Olympic year last yera I thought this was a good time to sent the request...Outstanding lady and has achieved so much in sport and life in general.
Carys Davina "Tanni" Grey-Thompson, Baroness Grey-Thompson DBE (born 26 July 1969) is a Welsh former wheelchair racer and currently is a parliamentarian and television presenter. She was born in Cardiff, Wales.
Grey-Thompson was born with spina bifida and uses a wheelchair. She is considered to be one of the most successful disabled athletes in the UK. She graduated from Loughborough University in 1991 with a BA (Hons) degree in Politics and Social Administration.
She was christened Carys Davina Grey, but her sister referred to her as "tiny" when she first saw her, pronouncing it "tanni" and the name stuck. Best of the bunch so far with one outstanding.
