First up is a vintage album page purchased from milly (thank you Richard). Following my recent charity shop find of a Bristol Rovers book with 63 signatures, this was the perfect companion for it. The album page has 15 signatures from 1940s/1950s Bristol Rovers players. It will fit quite nicely inside the book.
Next up is a true gem for me, and one of my most sought after autographs as a collector of autographed EastEnders fan cards. I never thought one of these would come my way. It is a Michael Elphick as Harry Slater card. Signed in biro so sig looks faint when scanned, but perfect for me. Only the 2nd time I have seen this card, and the first time I have seen one signed. I cannot stress how rare this card is. If this had surfaced on eBay, it would have easily sold for upwards of £150.

Carl. I came across the Michael Elphick by accident while googling something else. The power of Google, even indirectly. 🙂

I'm still buzzing about the Michael Elphick card. He did not have the card long in 2001 before allegedly being axed due to his drinking, plus there are rumours of a recall of the card because of a public backlash due to his EE character being a child abuser. He then sadly passed away the next year. As such, it is a rare card, and for a long time many collectors even wondered if it existed or if any ever got signed. It was only last year I saw an unsigned card for the first time when someone tried to sell it for £400 with no success. I paid £40 for this signed card, and it is a bargain at the price.

Even more chuffed about the Michael Elphick purchase now. One of the hardcore EE collectors told me today that an unsigned Harry Slater EE card sold for £120 last year on eBay. As such the £40 I paid for a signed card seems a true bargain in comparison, and I can only imagine what this might have gone for had the seller listed it on eBay instead of selling it privately to moi.
