At eBay, we believe that business can be a force for positive change and with the scale of our marketplace, we have an important role to play in ensuring we help build a future economy that works for everyone.

The eBay for Change programme aims to support social entrepreneurs and create jobs in marginalised and vulnerable communities by supporting the growth of the social enterprise sector.

To achieve this, eBay UK has partnered with Social Enterprise UK and the World Fair Trade Organisation to deliver a global shop window for social enterprises.

Social enterprises are businesses that reinvest their profits back into the communities they serve to drive critical social and environmental change in the UK and around the world.

Meanwhile, we are also working in partnership with UnLtd on the very first dedicated e-commerce social entrepreneur start-up programme  for early-stage social entrepreneurs across the UK. Through this programme of training, coaching and financial support, we are helping social entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and the impact they have on the communities they serve.

To find out more about eBay for Change, watch our inspiring video diaries

These document the journeys of a number of the social enterprises and social entrepreneurs on the programme and provide a compelling insight into the amazing work which they are engaged in as well as the positive impact which the programme is having.

For example, one social enterprise seller featured is Dave Linton, founder of Madlug, who explains in his first video diary how his business gives a pack-away travel bag to a child in care each time it sells one of its award-winning bags. For Dave, eBay for Change is an opportunity to reach an even larger audience and help even more children within the care system.

The eBay for Change video diaries are being released regularly, so keep an eye out for updates on the eBay for Change Facebook page to hear inspiring stories from incredible people who are making a positive difference in the world.
