Hello,
We’re writing to remind you that we’re adding new categories to our product identifier requirement from 29 February 2016. This applies to all new, relisted, revised and Good ‘Til Cancelled listings of new and manufacturer-refurbished items. The requirement applies to both single and multi-variation listings.
We recommend you start adding product identifiers to your listings now to make sure you’re prepared. From the week of 29 February, you won’t be able to complete listing, relisting or revising items in these categories without including the required product identifiers.
Adding product identifiers helps give your listings better exposure on the site. In general, listings with product identifiers benefit from better visibility in search results, both on eBay and in search engines.
Later in 2016, we’re adding even more benefits when you include product identifiers in your listings, such as merchandising advice, special promotions and inclusion in emails we send to buyers promoting items on eBay.co.uk. And if your item is listed in our eBay catalogue and has associated product reviews, we’ll automatically add them to your listing to help increase your chances of making a sale.
You can find out which of your listings are missing product identifiers now in My eBay > Selling > Listing improvements as long as you’ve got these switched on, or by using our bulk edit and relist tool. You can then add this information using your preferred listing tool.
Find out more about product identifiers in our Seller Centre and take part in our dedicated community chats on 12, 13 or 14 January 2016 from 5-6pm.
As always, thanks for selling with us.
Regards,
The eBay Team
