***Message for sellers – offer extended Christmas returns on eBay.co.uk***

01 October, 2014 | 09:29AM BST

Hello,

From September, you’ll be able to offer buyers an extended Christmas returns policy. This gives them until 31 January to return items bought between 1 November and 31 December. By offering buyers a longer time to return an item, you’ll encourage them to start buying gifts for Christmas early, making your business more competitive at this busy time of year.

Here’s how to opt in

Opt in to offer an extended Christmas returns on all your listings that currently offer a returns policy today. Remember, this policy will only appear on your listings between 1 November and 31 December.

If you prefer to exclude certain items—or entire categories—from extended returns, just use eBay’s bulk listing and editing functionality to change your returns policy for those specific listings.

At the end of the Christmas season, we’ll send you a reminder letting you know your regular, return policy was reinstated on 1 January.

eBay Top-rated sellers

While your eBay Top-rated status won’t be affected if you choose not to offer extended returns, only those listings that offer extended returns will be eligible to receive the 15% discount on final value fees and the eBay Premium Service badge.

It’s a great way for buyers to see that they have until 31 January to return an item—a reasonable amount of time for a recipient to open a gift and decide whether to keep or return it.

Opt in today. For more information visit our extended Christmas returns page.

Regards,
