This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

I am 5ft 2in and overweight. I am currently doing Weight Watchers which is not a faddy diet (hate them), it teaches you how to eat sensibly. However, I think the problem society has these days is lack of exercise. Everyone has cars these days,no-one walks anywhere, we are getting lazy (me included). As a child my brother and sisters rode our bikes everywhere, walked to the park etc. These days, my nephew spends his evenings and weekends in front of the TV/PS2. Shame. I took up badminton in Sept 2003, twice a week plus every other day on the exercise bike and the weight started to come off. I have not been able to go out for 6 weeks and so no badminton, I have put on weight ! Exercise works !

I didn't go to my WW meeting at the end of my first week (last monday) due to illness *great start* lol BUT I made it back there yesterday for my first weigh in!
I lost 3 1/2 lb's!!!!
Was well chuffed, as I didn't stick to it too well when I was feeling under the weather.
I made up for it as best as I could last week & we also had a weekend away with a few visits to the bar!
Still a quarter of a stone is a start & I need to lose lots more of them! lol
See you next week & good luck to everyone over Easter!!!
(Leave them eggs alone they contain 60g of FAT) lol

Uugh! I had some bread last night with my supper and paid the price for it.

The French market was in town at the weekend and as it was late, I plated up some pates and cheeses etc and also some of the nice bread I bought at the market.

Never again! I've probably eaten less than two loaves of bread in 18 months. Every time I eat bread it gives me indigestion. I used to eat tons of it before I reduced my carbs and as soon as I cut bread out I never suffered from indigestion or heartburn ever again.

Ate two slices of a nice bread last night and I was reaching for the Gaviscon within half an hour.

Hi everyone
can I join you for moral support? Joined Slimming World mid Jan and was going great guns until a few weeks ago - it was my youngest daughters Naming Day and I had a day off, and found it hard to get back on! Two weeks after that it was the middle one's birthday which didn't help, and now it's school holidays and there's loads of chocolate shouting at me! I'm hanging in there, but only just - have stayed the same for 3 of last 4 weeks. However, I have lost 2stone 4.5lbs in total, and gone from a size 32 to 26 so I'm not too disheartened, just worried I can't get back on track.

Hi people,

I'm needing moral support of a different kind. Can anyone offer advice to keep food down?

As some of you may know, my six year relationship ended last week. Since last Friday I haven't been able to eat anything without it making a reappearance. I've lost 5lbs already and I'm feeling constantly nauseous as well as hungry and cold. I'm also not a person who has 5lbs to lose and I'm already showing off excess collar bone, ribs and hip.

Help please?

mslees - Sorry I can't be much help, I'm only answering you because no-one else has yet and didn't want you thinking you were being ignored! If I were in your position I'd go and see your doctor asap and ask his advice - I know it's more an emotional cause to your weight loss than a physical one, but even so I'm sure he could still offer you some help!

Sending you all my best wishes anyway, wish I could be more help.

Please note there've been 4 days between the last post which I made and this - I feel like I'm hogging the thread!

Anyway, just wanted to share the news that I've now lost exactly a stone since I started getting fitter 8 weeks ago (well I think it's 8 weeks - I lost track!). Off out today to treat myself accordingly!

Thanks for all the support on the thread, particularly Lindi!

I have not come across this thread before, and really can't be bothered reading it, but I like to cause trouble wherever I go - so why don't you try eating less, fatso...

Sorry, I haven't offended anyone on this particular board for ages and just wanted to keep my hand in... Love, Eclectic...

Hi all!
Went for my second weigh in tonight! (at WW) & despite having a few downfalls (lol) over easter,
I still had a LOSS OF 1 1/2 lb's.
Still chuffed though as I was expecting the worse.
I think that because I got back on the plan inbetween my extra munchin' it made all the difference.
So anyone out there who's overdosed in points, don't despair, you can repair! lol
Well, that's a total so far of 5lb's (72 to go) EEEEEEK!
See you all next week, be good!

Sparkle

P.S. Is it possible to get the WW tracker on line or has anyone got a copy they can email to me?
Just a thought 'cos i'm lost without one & it's not the same writing it all down on scraps of paper.
:o)

Sparkle - next time you are at your ww meeting visit the sales table. There is a brilliant little book on it called "My Journal". It's got lots of good advice in it, a place to record your weight loss (and inch loss) and 12 weeks of trackers. It is much better than the one week tracker (which is easy to lose) as if you have a really good weight loss you have a record of what you ate. Then when you have a not so good week you can go back to the really good week and repeat it. It has worked for me (lost 45 lbs so far and only a few more to get to goal).

(Yesterday I had my first interview to become a ww leader!)

Oh & incase anyone want's to know, Hellmans have bought out a new 'extra light' mayo' that's only 6 points for the whole jar!

I have been using mayo instead of butter!
