This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

Thanks for that Sarah and michaeljackson45.

I generally drink about 5 pints a day so that sounds okay and my loo is *very* close! 😉

catingrass -

I know how you feel as I take medication every day (Crohn's Disease). I was put on steriods allegedly for 2 weeks & stayed on them 6 months, which is how I put on the weight. Never really had a problem before that & now it's h*ll trying to shift it.

I also find it really difficult as I can't eat loads of veg etc which is what you fill up on when on WW.

Try speaking to your Dr again. He might be able to suggest gentle exercise - walking etc which would be a great way to help you loose the weight. Also, have you tried any epilepsy support groups - they might have some good advice about it.

Good luck & hope the seizures stabilise.

So glad you are enjoying the outdoor life caz' it's great to hear you have your lovely family around you, it makes all the difference.

Keep up the good work chikky & have a fantastic weekend!

Hiya black cat! Is it just this thread making you peckish or all the other one's too? lol.
How about making a big salad sarnie & cutting it into 4's?.
That way you can hold the sarnie & still use one hand on the keyboard or mouse lol.
Or cut up some celery, carrot, tomatoes etc as a snack box? works the same!
What do you usually munch on, whilst sitting here?

Have a great weekend everyone,
not too many points/sins/cal's though lol

Tips for those on WW:-

When you buy canned food, sauce jars, frozen food etc, work out the no of points in the whole item and write it on the bottom.

When you are looking for something to eat in a hurry, you can quickly turn the item over and see how many points are in it.

I've found it a real help as I work 2 jobs and don't often have a lot of time to find something to eat.

*The Nags head healthy eating group*

Hi lily
I used to do that too & found it really helpful.
I need to whiz around with the WW calculator again soon, as in the long run it saves so much time!
Although I knew corned beef would be fairly high I was still shocked to find it was 17 points per can!
(unless I pressed the wrong button lol).
Don't eat that now anyway lol.

BTW. The SW foods I wrote down on my last post were for a vegetarian plan, if anyone likes the look of it but still wants to eat meat too, there are more options for meat etc on the B box but I haven't included them.
or you can do the red plan which is the opposite ie eat as much meat, poultry, fish etc as you like but use your b box for potatoes, rice, pasta & bread etc.

I personally like the freedom of the WW diet better, no restrictions, just a little less on your plate of the higher calorie foods.

What's most important is finding a plan that suits you!

Good luck everyone!

Hi Sparkle - corned beef hash is one of my favourite dinners - I also couldn't believe how many points were in it!

I've also tried LOADS of diets, maybe lost 1/2 stone on a few & got fed up as it was too restrictive. As you say, WW is great as you're not really restricted.

I'm need a pudding or I just can't stick to diets for any length of time (really sweet tooth!). On WW, I have a dessert every night which is probably why I've stuck to it so long this time (coming up for 4 months).

Well done Lily
It really does sound like you've found the right plan.
I too am enjoying WW & I don't feel I am missing out on anything.
I don't even feel guilty when I occasionally have a McD's!
As long as you know what you are going to have, you can plan your points around it.
Your low point breakfast is long forgotten by the time you find yourself munching on a big Mc! lol.
(Obviously this isn't an everyday occurance lol.)
I also find that now I CAN eat anything, (if I have enought points left) I don't really fancy it lol.
Why use up 5 points or more on chokky when you can have a whole meal for that lol.
The WW cerial bars are really sweet & take that urge away anyway, at only 1 1/2 points per bar!
What sort of things do you have for pudding?

Many people think that you have to starve, when trying to lose weight but it really isn't bad at all.
I always find on holidays for example, if I eat anything I want, I really look forward to getting back to my healthy eating plan afterwards.
Eating carp, makes you feel sluggish! Well, does me anyway lol.

Take care

I totally agree you can have a huge meal for not too many points. One of my favourites is M&S Count on Us Chicken in Maderia Sauce (2.5 points for 1/2 pack), new pots (2 points) and loads of veg - 4.5 points total!

The WW bars are great for a quick treat at lunchtimes.

I mainly have the WW frozen desserts - toffee chocolate (3 points) , choc & toffee ice desserts (1.5 & 2 points), bannoffee (3 points), double choc muffin (2.5 points) - (notice a pattern - the funny thing is I don't like chocolate in a bar but love it in a pud!)

Skinny Cow do really nice ice cream lolly's that are only 1 point (choc & strawberry). Rice Pud is another favourite at 2.5 points.

It's great having a treat & then - I had fish-n-chips the other day and it was soooooo good. I feel if I can have the odd "sin day" then it motivates me to keep going. I also appreciate it a lot more!

Lol, off to M&S at the next chance I get.

I use that amount of points on my peanut butter every morning lol.
Bye bye PB! Make way for da chocolate sponge pudding WITH chokky custard too!
Is it frozen, or in the chilled bit? lol
No worries if you don't get chance to post, I will find it if it kills me lol.

Sparkle - ROFLMAO. Must go myself as I had my last one about 3 days ago & suffering withdrawal!

It's in the chilled bit. Pack of 2 (£1.79?). You can freeze them which is great (taste just the same too - lots of chilled items loose their flavour once frozen).

Sparkle, you are a star - thank you.

Just one question: lentil soup is listed in the B box - I make my own, does that count as free food or is it because it is soup based (if you see what I mean) that it counts as a B box? Bet that sounds really thick (which I am lol).

Been stuffing my face with peas today - I eat them like sweets. Mmmmmmmm. Yummy.

Got to go out now (the game we rented from Blockbusters doesn't work) but wanted to thank you again for all your help.

Jay

Hi Jay

It's heinz lentil soup (for one) that's a B box choice.
Also
Loads of the baxters ones (only 1/2 a tin) too.
I can let you know the flavours if you want (most of the one's that you find in the shops

I forgot to mention (lol, you've got me at it now)
That Lentils are also a SPEED food!
(not a b box), munch 'em as much as you can lol.
They're FREE!

Must be a soup thing lol
If you make your own, it's free!
You could always chuck a tin in for good measures lol.

Thanks for the thanks, you are more than welcome!
Glad it's a help!
lol @ u for stuffin' da pea's!

so
Tinned = H/Extra &
Home made = FREE! (depending what you add to it lol)

Thanks for the tip Lily, will let you know when I get em (in bulk lol)
