*The Nags head healthy eating group*

This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

I pretty much skipped brekky today, although I did have 1/2 a piece of buttered toast with marmite! (1.5 points), leftover from my 3yo! lol
Just had two salad sarnies with scraping of low fat mayo' instead of butter (5 points)& a low fat yoghurt (1 point)
Brings me up to 7.5 points so far!

17 left for the rest of the day Yummmy!

(BTW you can just put your points on here if you want to, it's not necessary to list everything you have eaten, if you would rather not).
I will, when I get a chance as it might possibly give people idea's for something different or to find out the point values.

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Well, WEEK ONE: i lost 4lbs 🙂
WEEK TWO: stayed the same :(:(:(:(

I stuck to it to the letter and my clothes are all looser. I feel like i've lost a few lbs, but not according to the scales. why? anyone know?

My leader said that i've probably lost inches, but i wish it had shown up on the scales!

Down, but not giving up!

Hi Clare

It just happens sometime - have you ever watched things like the GMTV slimmers lot? There was one girl there who lost about 6" but not any weight.

Don't give up, keep motivated and the lbs will come off.

There is no way at the moment I can even consider eating a dinner!
We'l see!

Hope everyone has done well today

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Hiya Caz, 2lb's is great! don't be dissapointed!
You did 3lb's better than me this week lol as I gained a pound!
That's the same weight as a litre of pop!
Keep it up Caz' your'e going in the right direction!

I am feelinmg much better today (so far) thanks Lily, I did manage a bowl of shreddies at 9pm last night!(3points).
I spent the evening laid up on the sofa with my dressing gown & blankets on as I was so cold!
Still, saved me all those would be dinner points lol
My total for yesterday was 20 points.
I still never made it to M&S though as I was feeling ill & didn't go shopping after all.
Me & those chokky pud's just aren't meant to be lol.
Today I have 27 points in the munch bank to spend & think I will have cerials today for brekky.
I know, it's silly wasting all those points on PB on toast
when I can have cerials for half that lol.
Funnily enough I don't fancy the PB at the mo' so that's good!
Will see yas later for an update!

How's everyone else doing? Good I hope!
Have a great day 🙂

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Well I couldn't resist the temptation and weighed myself last night, naughty naughty I know but we didn’t have a WI this week cos of Bank Holiday Monday and my scales show that I’ve lost 4 pounds! 😄

Here’s what I’ve had so far today;
Breakfast
Small bowl of special k
½ pint of semi-skimmed milk
2 coffees with 1 sugar in each

Lunch
Pitta bread
Tandoori chicken
Lots of salad
Diet coke

And planning to eat 2 bananas, 1 apple, 4 satsumas throughout the day until I finish work. Not sure what I’m gonna have for dinner yet!

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Mmmm that sounds nice Dark angel!

I've had fruit & fibre with milk (3)
& two salad sarnies (5)

19 left for later!

Does anyone know how many points in 1 tortilla?
I bought a packet (5) of them & froze 'em individually so that I can just take one out at a time.

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Dark Angel - 4lbs fantastic.

Have you thought about trying sweetner instead of sugar? (just an idea if you struggle to stay within your points).

It's not that great for on cereal etc but I can't notice a difference in coffee (save a point per tspn sugar).

Sparkle - who makes the Tortilla? I'll see if it's in my book but not under "staple" foods so must be under the manufacturer.

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

They're Global Harvest, pk of 6 tortilla wraps!
Me being a numbnuts didn't think about looking on the packet!
Got the details, cal's & fat content & used my WW calculator to find that they are 1.5 points each!
Thanks for your help anyway Lily.
I am going to have some roasted vegetables later in the week & put 'em in a wrap!
Anyone who hasn't tried roasted vegetables, give it a go!
They are so different from boiling/steaming, really tasty!
& not a point in sight! lol

Glad you've got the points Sparkle.

How do you roast your veggies? The only way I know involves LOTS of olive oil.

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Just chop 'em into largish chunks, add some seasoning & roast in a glass dish in the oven.
Keep turning them & cover with foil for the second half. (For 1/2-1hr).
You can also add spices at the beginning or melt a LF dairy cheese triangle at the end to add variety.

I have just had my dinner which was an incredible 10 points!
Loin pork chop (4)
sausage (2)
Mash (3)
Free veg (0)
Gravy (1)

Still have 9 points left today for a few sherberts lol.
Have a great night everyone!

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

LOL

I only have extra 'cos I wasn't too well yesterday.
You can still have a couple of glasses of vino! (Hmmmm)
Currently on my first double voddy of the night, can have 3 more & a single! lol
Could have had another double on top of that if I had left out the sausage lol.
I will be asking for some of your's pretty soon lol, I am out on the razz tomorrow night! EEEEEK!!!

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Hi sparkle & lily

Sparkle lend us a few of your points LOL

Lily as for sweetners, I read through this whole thread and there was a section near the beginning about the dangers of sweetners and it shocked me, that and I don't really like the taste of them.

I am weaning myself off caffeine and sugar (down from 6 cups of coffee and 3 sugars per cup a day pre-WW to 1-2 cups with 1/2 or 1 teaspoon of sugar) and also going to stop drinking fizzy drinks. Well thats the plan anyway! 😉

I was a bit naughty tonight and got some chips from the chippie, but still I have 4 points left so maybe 4 vodkas and diet coke or a WW dessert and some fruit? Hmmm decisions decisions! :^O

Re: *The Nags head healthy eating group*

Dark Angel - I missed the start of the thread (started at 400 odd) but will def go back and have a look now. I must admit, I have weaned myself off endless cups of coffee but have to have 2 in the morning to get going and really dislike using 2 points for them.

6 cups @ 3 sugars each - wow, that'd be more then my whole daily points total by the time I added milk!

4 points - I'd be tempted to go for 2 voddies and a WW choc iced dessert (1.5).

Sparkle - enjoy your voddies & have a good time tomorrow night (you could be wanting our points though on Sunday).

Got 4 left over from the past couple of days so might join you in a voddie.
