This is not a *slimming club* really.

I think it would be nice to have a place to come & chat about weight loss ideas (safe sensible ones only please!),
to share personal experiences and achievements, and also to ask for help.

Lindi is our resident expert, and has kindly offered her help.
Just introduce yourself and come on in, you are most welcome!

I just looked in the WW points book but it isnt there!
Need the cal/fat content of foods to work it out on the WW calculator.
Good luck & well done on your fantastic loss!

morning sparkle,

not sure what the cal. or the fat contents are, it looks a little bit like a very large sweet potato but very ugly!!!!!!!!
i'm not 'strange' i just like to try different foods.
Big thanks for trying though :0)

I have a (big) jar of the new Hellman's Extra Light mayo in my fridge. It tastes great - 1/2 a point per 15g serving.

I also did a google for the Kasira veg - it appears to be part of the potato family. So use the same points as for potato. Have you tried it yet? Was it nice??

Hi ivvie
To be honest i'd never even heard of it, lol.
What does it taste like?
I would like to try these weird & wonderful looking vegetables but wouldn't know what to do with them lol.
Maybe I should get a recipe book!
Glad you got sorted.
see you again

Waaaahey!
Lost another 2 1/2lb's this week (brings it up to 7 1/2lb's now). Well chuffed! Got my first silver 7!
Have a long way to go but it's a start!
Had a looksey & saw "my journal", looks like a great idea!
Will have to get one next week as only had a wee bit of spare cash on me tonight & wanted to get some 1 1/2 point cerial/sweet type crisp bars!
Thought they would be a bit boring but they are really nice, ideal if ya'v got a sweet tooth or craving.
Keep positive everyone!
7 1/2 down, 70 to go.....lol
Watch this space, can't wait for the day it's the other way around!!!
Take care
:o)

Thanks lindi'
Feel very focussed at the mo', really enjoying the classes.
What's nice about it opposed to other slimming classes is that you are not all under the spotlight, waiting to be interrigated. (I used to hate that!)
It's just a relaxed friendly atmosphere, if you want to just sit back & listen, then you can.
If you want to talk about your week & ask questions then you are free to do so!
NO ONE is called out & you do learn more every week about your points & everyday substitutes available in the shops.
It's the best one i've been to!
This time I know I will succeed! However long it takes!
:o)
Please pin this back up Alexia & well done Lynne!
Better pull my finger out! lol

Sparkle I see your also doing WW. My group discuss the
weight people have lost, we are singled out if you have a good loss. which i find is embarrasing.
Thankfully small losers can keep ther heads down.
Very well done to you.

As a weight watcher leader your leader is out of order , it is not company policy to single anyone out , I would never in a million years single a person out , I give the group weight loss out and will always ask is anyone happy with their weight loss.

If you are not happy about the way she runs the meeting then get on to customer services , you are entitled to go to a meeting and not be embarrased , that is your right .

I used to hate being singled out too! Put me right off! lol
When I used to go to SW they used to clap you, EVEN if you had a gain that week???????
Where's the insentive in that?
They used to say to people (hypathetically)
"Well never mind, YOU have still lost 2lb's in 30 weeks"
Whooohoo!!!
It really was that silly sometimes!
Personally I feel that is just defeating the object!
You have a gain, you don't deserve a clap! lol
Try harder next week etc!
Maybe you could call her & ask her not to call you out at the meetings!
I know it works for a lot of people but I am sure many others feel the same & maybe avoid joining these classes as a result!
Just a thought!

Sparkle-dust,
I so know what you mean! They call it 'image therapy',
and even though it says its not compulsary on their website, there doesn't seem to be any way to get out of it!
I used to be mortified, and it felt SO patronising!!!
Being clapped because you had gained 1/2 lb, because you had eaten the kiddies easter eggs! What is that all about.
Well at least you came, is what they said, but really i think you need a bit of a pep talk if things are getting that bad, not a round of applause.
And also having to talk to the whole class in turns, about your tips etc, was a bit too much pressure for me.
I'm not slagging off the diet, because i liked it and was never hungry on it. Just HATED the classes with a passion.
AND the high carbs on the green days used to send my blood sugar soaring.

I did really well doing 'Scottish Slimmers'(called weight management in england i think) a few years ago, got to my target of 8 stone 10. I'm sure my success was because the Class leader was fantastic (she won a national award) She was really firm, but really motivating too.
I didn't dare veer off course, because she would give you a 'look' if you stayed the same or gained. But if you did well, she made you feel on top of the world!

Am seriously considering joining WW, i know theres a class near me. Just need to take the plunge.

Oh, I didn't know we had this thread!!

As some of you know I've lost 41½ pounds with Weith Watchers since April last year - started at 13st 4.5lb with a BMI* of 30.1 (eek), am now 10st 5lb with a BMI of 23.5 🙂

I haven't read the whole thread (sorry) but if any people need a low-fat/point chocolate fix, try Weetos bars - you usually find them in amongst the cereal section of the supermarket and they're dead chocolatey - only 1.5 points each.

Lindi, I am a clerk at my local WW meeting, I really enjoy it!

Jacqueline.
