Offers have been made on the item i am selling but it is not listed as best offer.

I have listed an item for sale with no buy it now or best offer. I have had one bid and numerous messages with offers for cash on collection. Am i allowed to deal with offers made through messages or should the auction continue as i already have a bid.

As you have a bid tell them to bid.

You cannot accept offers via messages.

Adding to the advice, make sure you ask the winning buyer to bring along the collection code when you let them know the pick up point. (QR can be scanned or code submitted if you have the Ebay app) . If they don't have it/bring it, ask them to sign a receipt. Cash on collection is best although you can't insist on it.
