EBAY SELLER SUPPORT - SHOULD THERE BE A UNION ?

I mean I was there from the start and I certainly am not unwilling to
compliment Ebay where deserved or criticise them either but I can tell you
57,000 sales later that if the suggestion is there could / should be an
Ebay seller union that for the first 10 years of their conception the great
corporate Ebay ruled like a God / spoke like the authority of a God and
made up and broke rules at will with absolutely no possibility to
questioning them and unwilling even to try to justify them. They did
because they could and were an absolute monopoly in certain categories of
sales items.

Although they may listen more and most of their initiatives now relate to
them only taking a bigger cut of your earned money they certainly don't
wish to allow some rules of fairness to exist or open any avenues of
discussion. The Buyer is spoiled rotten which is reflected in the ways and
situations and friction that the sellers have to deal with (abuse , crime
against the seller, threats, manipulation of the platform etc) Seller
support is absolutely minimal even though they have clearly worked on it.
Basically it's a failed concept.

The biggest discussion (open) all be it written review that I held with
them ended up with their suggestion that I should learn something about
Ebay (yes after 57,000 sales) In fact I attended Ebay University here in
the UK over the years and my final thoughts about my review and their
suggestion to me was that they in fact were the ones that had learnt
nothing and needed to learn something over the previous 20 years of dealing
with them.

That really is a CATCH 22 situation.

In fact the main thing I have learnt in 20+ years and being the holder of 5
Ebay accounts was that in the process of learning things they would never
change their ways so to speak. I learnt above all that was never going to
happen. There are many, many members in Ebay support especially based in
IE that would agree on most of my points but can tell you they have no real
say and no real powers to implement any of those actions.
