When buying postage labels on eBay, PayPal is the only option. Am I right in thinking that eBay removed PP as a payment option some years ago? Am I not able to buy postage with a CC? Regards

PayPal no longer processes buying/selling payments for eBay anymore.
But buyers can still use PayPal to pay for items.
And if you buy Royal Mail labels through eBay the only payment method for that is PayPal.
Labels bought via eBay/packlink are different.
For evri, yodel or DPD if you have any available funds on your eBay account they will deduct payment for labels from that first.
Otherwise you can use whatever payment method you normally use.

Another option you could consider would be purchasing the postage labels in person at the Post Office. All you need to do is get the item weighed to determine how much you need to pay (a lot of larger branches have self-service tills now in addition to the manned tills, so you can do this yourself if you like), purchase the postage label you need to use and affix it to the parcel. Once that's done you can drop the parcel off, although you should retain the receipt as it will have the tracking number on it, and you will need to upload the tracking number against the item you have just posted out so as to ensure that eBay marks the item up as having been despatched.

You could also buy online directly from Royal Mail.
It's cheaper than buying from the post office and you can pay by card or PayPal.
