immediate buyer cancel

Hi,

I just sold an item, but within a minute of the sale, the buyer requested to cancel. It lookslike I have no options but to accept here, is that right? if so, what's to stop anyone just doing this for fun?

You don't have to agree to cancel, but buyer could be awkward if you insist on payment and posting item.

Go to item in sold list, click cancel - buyer request.

Refund is made, if buyer already paid and you get fees refunded.

The "polite" way to deal with this is as has been described, by cancelling at the buyer's request.

If they haven't paid after four days there is a more brutal alternative, if you think they're a time waster. This is to make an unpaid item cancellation: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/payment-policies/unpaid-item-policy?id=4271

This will immediately cancel the sale and you will receive an account credit for your selling fee. The buyer will receive an unpaid item strike for not paying, which will stay on their account for a year. Most sellers set their preferences to automatically block bids from any buyer who has received two strikes for not paying. Neither party can leave feedback, any already left can be removed.

To block a member from bidding for your items and prevent them from sending you messages, see: https://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BuyerBlockPreferences
