Why do some sellers of books ask me to type in my delivery address when I get to the checkout page?

Don't they have access to that in my eBay details?

I have been buying off eBay for years, all sorts of things including books and have never been asked to do this. When I asked a seller directly they told me to ask eBay!

Sellers won't ask this.

At ebay checkout you select address you want item delivered to.

It may be a previous address you used, tick box to use again or type a new address.
