Report a scam seller

Hi

How can I actually speak to a human being at eBay to report what I beleive is a scam seller, I have paid over £200 to this seller for 2 items. eBay do not make it easy to speak to them when you have a problem.

Are you aware of eBay's money back guarantee to buyers? There is a link to this at the top of every listing, or see:

Getting help when an item hasn't arrived: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/buying/returns-refunds/reporting-item-didnt-receive?id=4042

Returning an item for a refund: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/buying/returns-refunds/return-item-refund?id=4041

eBay's money back guarantee: https://pages.ebay.co.uk/ebay-money-back-guarantee/

You can also report the seller here, but this won't get you your money back: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/buying/resolving-issues-sellers/report-issue-seller?id=4022&st=12&pos=1&...

Unless you give more details of what you think the scam is, it is impossible to say whether there is any point in contacting ebay.

If you have not read the ebay 30 day money back guarantee, do so now, right hand side of EVERY listing.

Under that if it covers your problem as you can get a full refund, it would not be a very clever scam, as the only person likely to lose money is the scammer.

Report a scam seller

Hi

Many thanks for your reply. I have now started my refund requests through ebay and I can give a lot more info now.

I beleive I have now been scammed by the same seller 3 times in 3 years, each time he starts a brand new business account with ebay under a new ID. He will list about 30 items and when they sell he posts them out and gets 100% positive feedback, then like this time he then lists over 850 items, all model railway, model cars etc. some of the railway is £150-£250 per item, loads of people buy like I did, after 2 days the item is then marked as despatched, all looks good until 2 days after that when no tracking info has been provided, I look into the sellers items and all the listed items have gone. I now have to wait a further 4 days before I can start my claim but first ebay will send a request for more info from the seller, to which I have to wait another 4 days before I can ask ebay to step in, yes I will get my money back but why does this seller every year keep dong the same scam.

What does he get out of this scam unless he withdraws the money from his bank account then closes it.

Regards

Chris

Adding to the advice already given -

As you cannot name and shame on the boards your post will be edited.

Unfortunately the neg you left can be removed if the seller knows the rules, the same goes for the other neg you left.

Seller can't close account while he has recent transactions, ebay will still want refunding and are quick to pass debts to collection agents.

If seller keeps doing this, ebay will eventually ban him.
