Postage

Sold an item recently to a buyer who paid the postage costs. However when printing the label to send the item to the buyer I had to pay the cost of postage. I don't understand this. Surely that means the postage has been paid twice. Can anyone explain this? Thanks

Postage

When you get paid now , eBay take their seller fees as soon as the buyer pays, this is why you're seeing a lesser amount, the benefit of this,  is no more monthly invoices.

If you look at the total amount paid it will be the postage and the sale price combined, eBay don't itemise the postage now.

Sometimes,  the postage cost is almost identical to the seller fee charged for that item.  Seeing a lesser amount paid to you,  you may think the postage was not paid,  but it was the seller fee taken,  be assured your postage cost was paid to you.

Here is a breakdown of the fees of all your transactions.

The buyer pays you the postage on the listing, you use that to actually buy the postage to send the item.

A buyer buys an item, then pays the cost of the item and the postage according to the listing and order details, then the money (minus ebay fees) goes into your chosen bank account.

When buying postage to send the item, then if you use ebay labels the money comes out of the same account.

If you pay for services off ebay then the money will still come from your account, using the money the buyer paid into

So you don't pay twice at all.
