It is possible that ebay's new system which requires the potential buyer to provide a method of payment is to blame.
Unless you opt out, as soon as you accept an offer the buyer is debited, but unless they add payment information, there is no offer to accept as they cannot pay instantly.
As far as I can see, until you have an offer that you can accept there is nothing more you can do.
