How do I get paid?

Hi, I sold an item on eBay which I was originally meant to ship to the buyer. The buyer paid online and subsequently asked if she could collect the item from me instead as it will take to long to arrive otherwise. As a result she picked up the item in person, and I reimbursed her the postage money.

the money is on hold on my eBay account, but I'm now very worried that it won't get paid to me because the item will not be marked as 'delivered'... does this make sense? Can anyone help? I've asked the buyer to mark as received  if that is an option on eBay, however she's not responding to me. I feel very stupid.

The payment will eventually be released.  Your bigger problem is that you have no defense over  an item not received case.

How do I get paid?

You have to mark as dispatched.

Ideally if collected should be paid in cash, as money is now likely to be held for 21 days, as there will be no tracking showing as delivered.

As a new seller it is standard for money to be placed on hold until proof of delivery by tracked means. This is a security measure until youhave proved to be a good seller dispatching on time and buyer receiving items.

There is nothing for a buyer to mark as received, however,  it would help if they left feedback,  this though is voluntary, they do not have to leave you any.

If they do wish to you first must mark the item as dispatched,  this is eBay's wording for a collected item.

You need to do this now, only on the Seller Hub

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sh/ovw

go to Orders >> Awaiting Postage / Print Postage label, and then click the box on the left of the item.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sh/ord/?filter=status:AWAITING_SHIPMENT

From the Postage tab above, use the drop down menu there, if the option to mark as collected is not there, then select Mark as Paid and Mark as Dispatched.

One more thing all sellers to receive payouts from sales must register for eBay's Managed Payments,  have you done this, see here for guidance:
