Faulty tablet from day one

Hi All,

I bought a Xiaomi Pad 6 in Dec 6th 2023.

It took 3 weeks to come.

From day one the screen started to flicker, going black, then started to shut down.

This occurred more and more.

Contacted the seller on January 7th with another problem.

I been told to factory reset, then reinstall the Global ROM, no changes.

Install EU rom, no changes.

Then Chinese, no changes.

Other factory resets. No changes.

This lasted until now.

The seller made me believe that it could been repaired and it went over the 90 days.

It's not a software problem, nor a firmware problem but obviously a hardware one.

The seller still question it.

I've sent videos of the problem on WhatsApp as they cannot be send on eBay.

The seller requested that we communicate via WhatsApp.

I've asked for a refund as the tablet never work properly, therefore not fit for it's purpose.

Instead the seller wants me to return it to be fixed at his cost.

It will take 4-5 weeks minimum.

So no tablet and no warranties that it will work.

I paid for a new Pad, not a second hand one.

I checked on the net if the problem occurred to others. None.

I understand that eBay 90 days have passed. But I mentioned the problem within days and was garantied a fix of the problem.

Could I still ask eBay for a refund?

I paid with PayPal in 3 installments.

And help welcome, thanks.

(I tried to send a video of the problem but eBay won't accept it)

You are too late to ask ebay to help now, they only give you 30 days to open a case.

But you could still open a case with Paypal if you paid that way, or if not try your card issuer or bank.

As advised, and as clearly stated in the Ebay Money back Guarantee, you need to open a return case within 30 days of receipt.  After this time, Ebay will not intervene.

It's too late this time but, for future reference, if you receive something that is 'faulty from day one', your best course of action is to promptly open a return, send the item back and get a full refund.
