Customs duty France to UK - Will Colissimo contact me so I can pay?

Hi - I just bought an item on eBay from a seller in France. I can see in eBay that it is held us/ not being delivered as there is UK customs duty to pay. But I have had no message from the courier Colissimo - will they contact me and and I will pay them when they do?

That's what couriers usually do, but I have never heard of Colissimo as a UK courier.

@papso22  They are part of LaPoste, (I am guessing similar to RM and Parcelforce if that makes sense!)

Parcels in UK depending on size are usually delivered by Royal Mail or Parcelforce.

If when in UK the delivery is by RM or Parcel Force, they will advise you of amount payable before they will deliver.

I suspect it can be paid online or over the phone now, some years ago I had to go to the delivery office.

Yes if it's borderforce Royal Mail you can pay online or over counter (cash/cash withdrawal)
