Somebody else must have bid the same amount as you earlier.
Their bid will have showed once you bid your £45 and the earlier bid won.
If you can find and post the item number, that could be confirmed or you can look at the bidding history and make sure you tick 'show autobids'.

Bid more - if you are prepared to pay a bit more, then bid higher,
