Bought item that doesn’t fit

Bought an item for my car which eBay said would fit but it doesn't and it would cost me the same as what I paid to return it.   Any suggestions? Would be appreciated

Open ebay case for does not match description (Not does not fit).

Seller provides returns label, you post back for full refund.

Escalate on day 4 if no label or refund.

Ignore seller excuses.

If the item was described to fit that part exactly, in your car,  and it doesn't,   you can send it back at the seller's expense, for a full refund.

Just proceed this way:

You have received an item not as described,  so you are guaranteed a full refund under eBay's 30 day MBG,  Money Back Guarantee policy,  if you claim within 30 days of the item's last estimated date for delivery.

You then go right of the item in your Purchase History,  and from More Actions select Return this item,  selecting the reason...  Item Not as Described.

The seller has 3 days to accept the case,  if they don't ,  you need to  escalate on day 4,  or within 30 days,  and eBay will step in and force the refund.

If the seller wants the item back first,  they need to pay for a fully tracked return postage.  On receipt of their item they have 48 hours to refund you.  Again,  if they don't,  you escalate the case.

Do not close the case early for any excuse or promise the seller may give,  and do not forget to escalate.

Adding to what's been said, when opening a case do NOT use the words "It does not fit".

eBay associates this wording with clothing that doesn't fit the buyer. They do not accept a not as described case if the item was the size stated in the listing. eBay has sometimes used this to refuse claims for automotive spare parts that don't fit.

Try to use another form of words. Perhaps "advertised as suitable for my car, but was not the correct size".
