The man in the corner aka Colin Warner

Hi, not sure if a, this is the best place to put this or b, anyone knows him.

Colin Warner passed away this morning in Derriford Hospital, Plymouth after a short but very acute illness. He leaves two beautiful children and three even more beautiful granddaughters.

It would appear he had no one in his life towards the end but if anyone wishes to contact me I can answer whatever I can.

Many thanks

Linda Morgan once proud to be Warner

How sad, thanks for letting us know. I remember when Colin (the man in the corner) used to post DIY help. It was quite a few years ago but there are still a few people posting on here from then. My condolences to his family.

Ohthatisverysad.Thankyoufortakingthetrouble to come here and tell us.  I have lots of fond memories of Colin - always ready to help out he was.  Had a great sense of humour too.  He was one of the "regulars" who you could always count on to keep you company and keep you cheered up.  What a shame.  My deepest condolences.  It was very kind of you to think of us at this time.

Thank you, Linda for posting this. I do of course remember him on here and met him when we had a FHG meet at York several years ago.

A great guy always willing to give help with his wide knowledge of DIY.

My condolences go to all of his family.

Farewell, mate, RIP. You were one of a kind.

I also remember Colin - always friendly and helpful.

Sad that he had nobody at the end as he always came across as such a people person.

RIP Colin.

Very sad news.

I've just walked around my house and in every room there's a DIY job I managed to do with Colin's helpful advice.

Rest in Peace Colin.

Oh yes, I remember Colin, a very nice and kind gentleman and, yes, always

so helpful.  Sorry to read that he's passed away, strength and peace to

his family and may he rest in peace.  I hadn't realised he'd moved to

Plymouth though - a nice place to be.

Thanks for letting us know.

So sorry to hear about this.

Was it Colin who had a long running DIY help thread that was pinned to the top of the board - this one?

As a final update, Colin was cremated yesterday in Exeter at 9am in a very simple ceremony.

Some of his ashes will be scattered in a part of Cornwall he loved very much and the rest will be scattered where his parents were in Yorkshire.

At this time of year, take time to connect with loved ones you may not have seen very often because one day you may not get the chance to do so.

That's kind of you to let us know Looby.  May his spirit be free and watch over those he loved, free in

the places he loved.

There will be many on here, and doubtless elsewhere too, who are using his help and advice for years

to come, many who are grateful for his helpful posts about almost anything!

Bless you Looby, take care.
