Sensitive bladder - ladies

Can I ask a personal question of you ladies please? Have any of you got a sensitive bladder? I seem to have developed one over the last week or so; when I saw the Gastro  on Tuesday, my urine sample had a bit of blood in it, but he wasn't concerned, nor about my bladder. It's starting to spoil my walks as there are no toilets around (due to the council closing them down) so I am having to rush back home to spend a penny. It's like cystitis without the burning and just feels uncomfortable. I usually have to get up twice during the night for the loo. I just wondered how others manage the condition? Might have to go see my GP if it carries on, although I have mentioned it to him before and he seems to think it's just an "age thing." (I'm 59). Thanks for any replies.

Hi , if your consultants not concerned don't you be! However if you are going or gone through the dreaded M, it could be that, go to a good pharmacy & have a chat to the pharmacist who will recommend a good product for you, but if you are concerned go to your GP who if he/she feels it's nec will prescribe antibiotics which will be right for your ailment and compatable with your Crohns .

Ask the doctor's receptionist to be put in touch with the continence service. Sometimes it is the district nurses, sometimes a specialist nurse. It may be that pelvic floor exercises may help, or there may be medicines that can help. If it is a problem with the sphincter muscle they can do botox on that and it works wonders. Sometimes you can learn to "self catheterise" so that you can ensure that your bladder is completely empty before you go out. They can also supply pads to cope with small leaks etc.

Don't just put up with it and suffer in silence, get it properly looked into - your quality of life is VERY important, so don't just let your GP fob you off!

Sensitive bladder - ladies

Since i started the Peri M im always P***G. I have various places in town as my water stops. I sometimes even come out of work and go to the loo before i leave ,then i walk up the town 10mins and i need to go again. It seems to be in phases not every single day though, and theres no pain at all. I always think im unusual as i have NEVER had cystitis in my life!!. It seems to be a common thing with ladies though. Im always worried to go on long bus journeys now as i panic if i want to go to the little room.Woman Surprised

I've been in the menopouase for 7 years now, at least the hot flushes are easing off and arent as often, maybe a dozen times a day. I havent got pain when I need the loo, but its an uncomfotable feeling. Maybe will have to try pelvic floor exercises. The joys of getting older. Woman Wink
