He had a fair run for his money, I suppose. Saw him many years ago at the Hilton in Park Lane where he appeared as a special guest in our firm's dinner and dance.
He was better as the other half of The Two Ronnies rather than on his own. He was alright - full stop. His style of humour didn't appeal greatly to me. Full of inuendoes about his nether region. Got a bit boring after a while. No doubt the papers will be full of what a wonderful person he was while privately they probably didn't even socialise with him.
