I Feel Like Going ..

... for a nice drive to some unspoilt piece of coast, somewhere like Thorpeness

in Suffolk.  Where there is just enough but no over-commercialisation.  Then

I feel like sitting on the beach, swimming in the sea, mucking about with stones -

making "beach art" with them, collecting shells, eating my sandwiches on

the beach.  Just doing whatever takes my fancy and thinking about stuff.

I can dream.

Instead I have to do a thousand things at home, go food shopping, allsorts of

dreadfully boring stuff.  Today I don't want to do it!

I'm with ya on that, it's a lovely dream & I hope you get time to make it come true! The simple pleasures are the most rewarding especially for mental& physical health many a problem has been solved just by doing such.

I know Saasher, I always seem to be calmer when I'm by (or in!) the sea.

It's just therapeutic, mucking about with the pebbles/swimming/just watching

the sea sparkling in the sunlight or waves breaking, just the sight of it and

the sound it makes.

I'm sorry to see you are going through the mill a bit at the moment Saasher

and I will be thinking of you.  Sometimes life seems to deal out some sxxt

and it's hard to know why, how etc. 

Perhaps I'll have to get a bus and take names for a mucking about trip to the

seaside!!

That's so nice of you & that's a good idea. lol. But in truth although I've finally spoken up I have in fact had quite some time to come to terms with my situation & apart from a few wobbles , mainly self doubt I'm beginning to enjoy life again! If I could only organise myself a little better, I often come home from work & instead of getting down to doing some more unpacking I think S*D it & take off with the dog & just walk & think, it works for me.lol.

You'll have to learn to 'allow' yourself to do what you want now.  You've had a long time thinking of someones else's needs, now you just have yourself to please.  As long as you don't go too far the other way and become a slob!!  LOL

But ask yourself, 'Do I really NEED to do that right now?  Will it affect anything or anybody if I leave it until tomorrow?'  If the answers are no, then right, S*D it and do it tomorrow!!

Wise words & very true! & you're right of course I used to work ,come home cook & clean etc & also bake. But now when I get home I'm sort of lost , can't be bothered just for myself, but I think that it just takes time to adjust & get back into a new routine & I certainly don't want to turn into a slob, when I first read that I thought it said turn into a **bleep**. lol.which made me giggle.

My OH is going away in June for a week, he goes every year and I love it, get up take the dogs for a walk, come back, do the housework and then do anything I blooming well want. Spring clean, go out for lunch, decorate or go back to bed, have a takeaway or beans on toast.  Go to bed at 7pm or 2am is doesn't matter.

We all need to spend time on ourselves and do what we want, weither we are on our own or have a partner,

Fishy I love the idea of a bus trip sounds wonderful.

I love having freedom to do what i want when i want and not coming home to sit with someone hogging the telly and getting up and down to make drinks ect for someone else!!. Or worrying what someones going to be like when they come in from the pub. im glad i dont have to live like that anymore.

I love the sea too and it really does blow some cobwebs away and freshens you up in body and mind!!!!. We need that ladies.

Right then fishy its a coach trip to the seaside , all aboard LOL   Nothing like a bit of fresh air to clear the brain fuzz & sea air is imho the best for the job 🙂

Just going to ring the vets to see how my  'mini tiger ' is getting on cant wait to fetch him home !

me too, although the sea is only 15mins drive from here, I'd like a different beach for a change....I'll bring the samijes....egg or jam?

we all deserve some time to ourselves, I'm hopeless on my own though, all I do is read!!! drives my OH bonkers as he's not a reader at all.

he's gone off to walk the neighbours dog as he can't do it just yet after his hip replacement. I'm off in the shower to get rid of some of this muck, I've been gardening...

OH came in yesterday after labouring for 9hours, then serviced and repaired a mower whilst I cooked tea and made the bed with a back that was seized up. So long as I didn't move.  Well when he realised he made me a coffee, fetched the painkillers, did a hot water bottle and then washed up. Then when a mate popped around unexpectedly he made drinks and departed to the other room.  

Sometimes company is so worth it.

Sea side - sent himself out to the boat on Sunday, he spent the first couple of hours soundo.  The sea is so o o relaxing.

it's funny really PCC, we live near Bodnant Gardens N. Wales, and it's in the country, but it's only 5mins drive and you are alongside the estuary, follow that for 10 more mins and you are right by the sea! all the way along the main road to Llandudno, so we get the best of both worlds.

you can hear a pin drop where we are which suits me fine, but when I want the crashing of the waves on a rainy day, which I love, we go the beach!!!!

I know I am so lucky to live here.

Been past the sign for those gardens many a time on holiday but OH would never stop - mind you with 3 primary age kids!.  Have you been to Penrhyn Castle(over towards Bangor)? - now those gardens were rather nice as was the "castle" and the food. That was 15 year ago mind.
