Thanks, Towery. I'm Yorkshire born & bred & proud of it. Well, strictly speaking I'm what's known as a "Twin Rose" as my Dad was from Lancashire, Mum from Yorkshire

That's so nice! I spend as much time as I can spare in Yorkshire, they taught me loads , & I still go & visit& work with the many friends I made in my youth!. Great country, people who if they take to you are friends forever with no strings attached.

my dads a Scot  but mums a yorkshire lass ,  i lived there for 35 yr

still go 'home' 

watching  the  'grande  depart'  for Le tour de france was  through  teary eyes,  names of places that you grow up listening to, seeing the countryside ,  its a county that always  lifts my  heart

Lived in Yorkshire for 27 years ...both my chidren were born there and live there now themselves.

We intend to go back there and live .....the sooner the better ...love Yorkshire but love my children more , it will be lovely to be near them.

I lived there until I was 18 and have lived in Suffolk for 48 years.  I've never wanted to go back.

No denying it's beautiful but I prefer living here now.

Many moons ago, my family came from Yorkshire then they moved over the border to Lancashire and the majority of us have stayed here.  I do have family in South Wales, the Lake District, Worcester and Stafford so we are well spread around.

Sandra, I'm going back a two or three generations.  I was born in the Red Rose county but where I live now is classed as Merseyside.

I only jest ! lol. My elder brother is a foreigner from the south & lives in Lancashire, the war of the Roses is still fought with err! Friendly rivalry!! lol.
The nearest to Mersyside I get to is Liverpool Vet College!.
