I've regularly bought items from the USA to the UK and almost always gone for listings where the seller is using GSP as I prefer to just pay the VAT and duties upfront. That's what I did this time - all fees paid. The item is a leather handbag, similar sort of item I usually buy. It arrived in the UK Monday and has a status of HELD IN CUSTOMS. I've contacted eBay and they've emailed me to say they're liaising with the courier service to get the relevant documents. I've never ever had any issues with customs when using GSP. Has anyone else experienced this before? Any idea if or when it will get resolved and how long? What eBay have said to me is that I will get a refund if it's not been delivered by Friday so I'm not concerned about losing the money but I just really wanted the item.
