Hi @aj8 ,

Are you still getting this message when trying to list an item for charity and is this your first time listing an item for donation?

Thank you,

Kat

Have you excluded Northern Ireland from the places you will post to?

If not, this is the problem, the rules count NI as cross border since Brexit

Another possible problem is that you are in Global Shipping.

I did a test run removing NI for one of the listings but the  notice This charity ID can't be used for a cross border still came up.

Listing an item for a charity donation

I am also getting this problem. I'm attempting to list my old Apple Macbook and donate 100% of the sale to Shelter. I have excluded all international and specific domestic destinations. I'm not enrolled in Global shipping but I cannot select any charity to donate the proceeds to without seeing the message "This charity ID can't be used for a cross border listing."

It's very frustrating!

Listing an item for a charity donation

I know this problem and still cannot figure out how to solve it. In the past (a year or so ago) I listed Beanie Babies and wanted to sell them with the proceeds (100%) going to various animal shelters, etc. There was no problem. Now in the last 4-5 months when I tried to list items for a charity I cannot get them listed. It is very frustrating.

You might be being caught by the restrictions on toys rather than a charity issue.

I am trying to list Beanie Baby toys for charity which I have done before with no problem until I started listing additional ones. But they wouldn't go through. Anyone who has other ideas would be appreciated.

As previously stated, the eBay rules (and laws) recently changed and private sellers can no longer sell toys for babies and young children. Only business sellers are allowed to list them to comply with safety legislation.

So this is why you can no longer sell them on eBay and why eBay does not let you list them

You may have done it before the rule change but it is not allowed now

Thank you for this answer ... but I am not aiming to sell to babies ... just collectors of Beanie Babies.

And this doesn't explain why I can't list a laptop.

Hi @shazzbrown ,

Thank you for your post.

What is the error message you get when you try to list the item? It looks like your account is registered on the US site.

Thank you,

Kat

OK I cant see how I'm registered on the USA site, I'm here in the UK with a UK address, bank account listed etc. Please help - I'm really wanting to post some listings to benefit my charity.

It is the same with me ... UK based. I have listed items before in order to put items on sale for charities, mostly Beanie babies and they sold just fine. But for some reason the listing hasn't worked. £5 may not be much to animal sanctuaries but it helps. No on in Ebay seems to be able to fix the problem or explain what is wrong.
