I am a trustee of a charity . The charity is listed on eBay for Charity. If I go to Charity search | eBay for Charity and type the name of the charity into the search box, the search finds us and takes me to a page giving the correct details. However, if when I create a listing and say I want to add a charity, I can't nominate this charity. The search box says "no results". Is there something else I need to do to allow people to nominate us?

The listing tool only shows the larger / more popular charities. Sellers wanting to donate to a smaller charity should select it as a favourite here https://www.donation.ebay.co.uk/dashboard/favorites and then it will be shown as an option on their listing tool.
However, as a trustee you should set it up as a charity seller account https://www.ebayforcharity.org/uk/resources-forcharitableorganisations/direct-selling/

We may set it up as a seller account, however I have other people wanting to make a donation from stuff they sell.
Unfortunately, it doesn't show up in the search for setting favourites either, even though that does give me a wider range of charities to choose from.

Hi @prh47bridge ,
Thanks for reaching out.
That does seem strange you are unable to select the charity if they are enrolled as a charity. Can you share the name of the charity so I can have a further look?
Thank you,
Kat

Hi Kat
Happy to do so. It is the Festiniog Railway Heritage Group - Festiniog Railway Heritage Group | eBay for Charity
Thanks for taking a look at this.

Thank you @prh47bridge
I know you have mentioned it doesn't show up in the search for favourites but can you try adding it to favourites from that page you provided by clicking underneath the charity
Then check to see if it does allow you to add when listing and let me know.
Thank you,
Kat

Hi Kat
It is now listed as a favourite charity but still not allowing me to add it to listings.
Best wishes
Peter

Thanks @prh47bridge ,
Do you get any specific error message when you try to add it to your listing? To see if this is a technical issue that's not allowing you to add your specific charity are you able to trial adding a different charity. Don't go ahead with the listing but see if it allows you to add another one.
Thank you,
Kat

No error message. When I enable "Add a charity" it shows the British Red Cross Society as the default. When I click the down arrow and type "festiniog railway heritage group", the box shows "No results". If I then click elsewhere on the page it reverts to the British Red Cross Society.

Sorry - should also have said that if I select another charity such as Welsh Highland Railway Limited, that works fine. It comes up in the search and I can select it. It then remains as the selected charity when I click elsewhere on the page.

Thanks for confirming that @prh47bridge
It could be something technical but I will link in with the charity team first to see if there is something that needs to be done on the account. I'll need to take it offline to follow up with them. I will let you know once I have an update.
Thank you,
Kat

It's available on the favourites list, but with two fs. That's probably because the place name is Ffestiniog, so eBay thought the railway uses the same spelling.

No, that's the Ffestiniog Railway Society which is a different organisation.

Thanks Kat. Much appreciated.

Hi @prh47bridge ,
After following up with the charity team they have explained that charity you want to select Festiniog Railway Heritage Group | eBay for Charity is not fully set up to accept community seller donations. They are an eBay only charity so will need to complete some more steps to allow community sellers to donate to the charity.
This needs to be done by the charity itself by contacting the eBay charity team directly. They can help to complete the process. The contact email option is at the end of the page here.
Thank you,
Kat

The contact email on that page sends a message to charityteam@ebay.com
That results in a response saying that the inbox is closed and not currently monitored. I've now tried charityteam@ebay.com

Having looked more closely, the contact email link sends a message to charityteam@ebay.com. That results in an automated reply from ukcharity@ebay.com saying that the inbox is closed and not currently being monitored and suggesting that I reach out to charityteam@ebay.com! Failing to realise that this was the email address I had already used, I sent another email. This has resulted in an automated "we have received your email" response. Odd and not the best experience!

Hi @prh47bridge ,
I'll share that feedback regarding the email process. The chartiyteam@ebay.com is the correct email where you received the " we have received your email". They do experience high volumes so may take some time but they will get back to you.
Thank you,
Kat
