Selling motor vehicles

I have noticed that quite a few car sellers on ebay are registered as private sellers even though they have multiple vehicles for sale,or as soon as they have sold one they list another one straight away, how many do they have to list or sell to be classed as dealers, the reason i ask is because none of the so called private sellers offer a warranty which they would have to do if they were business sellers, anyone got the answer.

They could well be hacked accounts listing cars that have been lifted from AutoTrader or similar and don't actually exist.

There is no buyer protection on eBay for motor vehicles and it is generally a scammer's playground.

Perhaps you could post an item number (if that's still allowed)

Properly registered UK business sellers of cars do not legally have to include a warranty.

They can if they wish offer one for free or they can offer one for an extra fee.

Buyers have some recourse under the Consumer Rights Act of 2015.

HMRC says: In the UK, selling more than 12 cars per year typically qualifies you as a trader.

Selling motor vehicles

Hi. thankyou for your input on this, if that is the case then there are
quite a few on E.BAY. selling wheelchair accessible vehicles who are
selling multiple vehicles listed as private, who should be listing as
traders/business, which means they can get around the consumer protection
laws, and the buyer who is paying out thousands of £ has no recourse to get
a refund or repairs carried out if the vehicle is faulty .thanks warlock8320
